What's in Season
Rewards at Any Time of the Year
A visit to the Preserve offers rewards at any time of the year. In spring, wander the woodland trails to see carpets of dazzling spring ephemerals cover the forest floor, especially vivid from mid-April through May. As spring unfolds, flowering shrubs, trees and vines join the display.
Waves of summer wildflowers begin to appear in June, especially in our meadow. Through November the display of flowers and fruit is continually changing. You'll walk among richly colored flowers and dramatic native grasses. Autumn brings glorious trees and shrubs with brilliant foliage and fruit.
In winter, a peaceful walk through the woods reveals fruit, trees, shrubs and the skeletons of plants that offer food and shelter to resident and overwintering wildlife. Buds on the trees and shrubs promise that the cycle will begin again in spring.
