Digital Membership FAQs
Why did the Preserve go paperless with membership?
The Preserve is committed to sustainable practices, which we know our members deeply value. By eliminating paper memberships, we save paper and other resources associated with mass printing and mailing and reduce waste.
Going paperless also allows members a more seamless visitor experience. No more waiting for your card to arrive in the mail! Simply save your digital membership to your smart phone or print a copy and store somewhere handy for easy access with every Preserve visit.
When did the Preserve transition to paperless membership?
The Preserve team worked hard across 2022 to prepare for this important change and proudly introduced our digital membership program in January 2023.

I have more than one person using my membership. How do I use my digital membership card?

I noticed my membership does not come with physical guest passes anymore. Why?
Guest passes are a value of $12 per pass, the same cost as one general adult admission. Guest passes are still offered as a premiere member benefit for Steward level ($250) and above but no longer included with Individual, Dual and Family memberships. Instead, we are offering new benefits—like members-only programs and events—that better align with our members’ requests.
Do you offer autorenewals for membership?
The Preserve previously offered autorenewals, but we are phasing this out in 2023.
Will I receive reminders about my soon-to-expire membership?
As a courtesy, you will receive periodic email reminders approximately one month prior to your membership expiring and approximately one month after your membership has expired. Your Preserve membership team may also remind you quarterly and/or towards the end of each calendar year.

From the comfort of your home, or on-the-go from your smart phone or tablet—anytime! —you can click here to purchase or renew your membership online.
Can I share my Preserve digital membership card?
Memberships are meant only for the digital card holders. Check out our membership grid and the row entitled “Admissions Per Visit: who is covered with your membership level?” This will serve a reminder for who is welcome to utilize the card’s benefits with you.
If you would like to share the gift of the Preserve with others, consider purchasing an annual Gift of Membership or Preserve gift card—great for a birthday, anniversary, holiday gift or just because!
I am a new Preserve member. Do I have access to the Native Plant Nursery?
Yes, all visitors—members and non-members—are welcome to shop at our Native Plant Nursery during its open season April-October. However, members receive a 10% discount on all nursery purchases, as well as other perks including early access to our much-anticipated nursery opening each spring. Our knowledgeable nursery volunteers will offer guidance and support as you select the perfect natives for your unique property needs.
I am a new Preserve member. How do I get acclimated?
Thank you for supporting the Preserve. You are a change-maker!
A wonderful benefit of membership at all member levels is complimentary registration for our naturalist-guided walks. Our naturalists are knowledgeable and passionate volunteers who have been certified to host you on 90-minute walks of the Preserve. These walks can serve as an introductory or highlight tour, perfect for observing the most remarkable species in bloom during each unique season. While naturalist-guided walks are certainly not just for new members, they are an exceptional way to learn more about the Preserve’s accredited native plant museum collection and other unique sensory delights on nature’s stage.
Naturalist walks are typically hosted Fridays through Mondays at 11:30 and 2:30 PM, April through October. They are subject to change and weather contingent. Please call the Preserve at 215.862.2924 to sign up for a naturalist walk ahead of time or visit the Twinleaf Gift & Book Shop to register in-person.
Naturalist walks are also available to non-members for a nominal fee, in addition to a daily admission fee. Non-members must register and pay for each naturalist walk in-person at the Twinleaf Gift & Book Shop.
