Admission:
$10 per non-member ticket; free for Preserve members and ACCESS Card holders.
One ticket (non-member, Preserve Member and ACCESS Card holder) allows admission for up to six guests—you do not need to purchase a ticket for each person.
Preserve @ Play admission pricing replaces our typical daily admission (for all visitors) for the day. Guest passes are not usable for Preserve @ Play.
Please join us for a special day devoted to children, families and play on Saturday, June 15. The Preserve @ Play is an annual event that celebrates families getting outside and learning about nature with their budding naturalists. This year our theme is Tree Jamboree and offers a full day devoted to family fun and child-friendly activities. Look forward to games, woodland crafts, sensory exploration, refreshments, live music by Lolly Hopwood, a wildlife demonstration by Aark Wildlife, the traveling exhibit Pennsylvania WoodMobile and more. Enjoy our hiking trails, the children's play areas (R.O.T. Plot and Sycamore Hollows), the Green Labyrinth and all other areas of the Preserve during this day of celebration for the next generation of explorers.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged for Preserve @ Play. If you missed pre-registration, you can still purchase tickets the day of, in-person at the entry gate.
Activities inside the fence will be running from 11 am to 3 pm. From 3 to 4 pm, enjoy a wildlife presentation by Aark Wildlife at The Captain James Moore Pavilion in the meadows.
Preserve @ Play is a rain or shine event. Tickets are non-refundable in most situations.

Full Program Schedule:
Timed Activities on the Stone Bridge from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm
- Interactive Theater (11:30 am)
- Help tell this interactive story of the water, air and soil cycles with sound effects.
- Woodland Dance Party (12:30 pm)
- Meet on the Stone Bridge for a dancing activities for rambunctious explorers.
- Live Music with Lolly Hopwood (1 pm)
- Based in Bucks County, PA, Lolly Hopwood has been performing music for children since 2000. "Kids love to move, dance, play, and be heard. And Lolly is here for that. Let's allow our kids to be KIDS. And let's love them just how they are."
- Woodland Dance Party (1:30 pm)
- Meet on the Stone Bridge for a dancing activities for rambunctious explorers.

Continuous activities throughout the Preserve from 11 am - 3 pm:
- The Pennsylvania WoodMobile:
- The Pennsylvania WoodMobile is a traveling exhibit that provides an interactive experience educating visitors about our forests.
- The Bee Game:
- The object of this game is to collect pollen and place it in the honeycomb before time runs out.
- Native Tree Scents
- In this activity presented by Roan University, learn to identify some native trees by their scent.
- Nest Building:
- Visitors can make their own small nests (and help us build a human-scale one) made with natural materials that birds would typically use for nest building.
- Sensory Station:
- Located at the gazebo, visitors can use their different senses to engage with the natural world or rest and immerse themselves.
- Pick-up Stix:
- A traditional game using 30” long willow sticks.
- Quiet Space
- Decompress from the busy day at the Visitor Center Auditorium.
- Quoits:
- A “ring toss” game using willow and natural (grapevine) rings.
- Raggedy Tree:
- Hang biodegradable ribbons to a tree in this visitor-created art instillation.
- Woodland Crafts:
- Located near Sycamore Hollows, visitors can make their own large or small creatures from clay, sticks and natural materials that will inhabit a small area for the day.
From 3 - 4 pm:
After other activities end at 3 pm, join us from 3 to 4 pm at The Captain James Moore Pavilion for a wildlife presentation with Aark Wildlife, a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation and education center whose mission is to rehabilitate and release orphaned and injured native wildlife and promote harmony between humans and their wild neighbors through quality environmental education
After 4 pm:
Planned activities for Preserve @ Play will end at 4 pm after the wildlife demonstration program, but families are invited to enjoy the Preserve all day long. Our normal hours of operation are still in effect for the event, opening at 9 am and closing at 5 pm, with last gate admission at 4 pm.
Q&A:
Are the Native Plant Nursery and the Twinleaf Book & Gift Shop open during Preserve @ Play?
Yes, the Native Plant Nursery will be open as usual; however, you will need to purchase a Preserve @ Play ticket to enter the Preserve on this day. If you only want to visit the nursery or gift shop, we recommend coming another day.
Can I bring my pet to Preserve @ Play?
The Preserve only allows service animals past the fence. Leashed dogs are permitted in the lower meadows.
