Our Board & Advisors
BHWP is governed by a volunteer board of trustees. The trustees serve as legal stewards of the Preserve’s mission, goals, policies and finances. Through their occupation, background, experience and residence, the board members represent diverse segments of the regional community—a community comprised of those interested in growing, understanding and conserving native plants. In turn, our board members represent BHWP within this same community.
Each trustee serves on one or more committees based on his or her expertise and the board’s needs. The board may also use ad hoc committees to consider particular issues. These committees can include administrators and other non-trustees.
The board’s Governance Committee ensures that the board’s composition corresponds with and supports the Preserve’s long-term institutional mission and objectives.
Trustees may serve for one or two three-year terms.
