People of the Preserve
Our Volunteers
The energy and creativity of volunteers provide essential support to our plants, property and programs. As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to make a difference, learn new skills, meet new people, enjoy rewarding experiences and share your talents.
Our volunteers are the heart and soul of Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. It takes many hands to keep the Preserve well maintained and running smoothly. Several hundred volunteers contribute time (over 10,000 hours a year!) and talent to maintain our trails and property, educate the public, welcome visitors, oversee the gift shop, tend to our seeds and plants, assist the staff, and help successfully run our special events.
Volunteers are active in every department at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. Whether you see yourself engaging with guests, helping in the Native Plant Nursery, leading walks or programs, or lending a hand behind the scenes, there are many volunteer roles for you to consider. We have a variety of opportunities for volunteers to participate in, regardless of interests, schedules and skills. Our projects and positions range in the level of commitment, knowledge and training necessary. We welcome you to submit an application at any time, and can use the list of opportunities as a guide in completing your application. We invite you to explore our opportunities to find the right place for you.
Please review our volunteer opportunities; then, complete the online application.
Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@bhwp.org if you have any questions about volunteering at the Preserve.
