Special Events at the Preserve, Community Connectivity
At the Preserve, every gathering is an opportunity to cultivate connection — to nature, knowledge and one another. Our special events are thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, celebrate the Preserve’s unique destination as the only accredited outdoor museum in the country dedicated solely to native plants and strengthen community connectivity in meaningful and lasting ways.
From our signature fundraising celebration that raises crucial funds to support operations, to our dynamic education conference that cultivates ecological sustainability within our shared and personal landscapes, to welcoming community events that bring families, friends, and neighbors together — Preserve events welcome everyone.
Whether you are a passionate gardener, environmental advocate, educator, student or simply someone who is inspired by nature, you’ll find experiences at the Preserve that engage and inspire.
Members and ACCESS cardholders often receive discounted ticket rates. More information on ticketing is available on each event’s webpage.
The Preserve’s Annual Events
Rooted in Our Future
The Preserve’s signature fundraising event and celebration welcomes over 200 Preserve’s supporters annually to raise funds to support the current year’s operations. The evening includes a casual, festive atmosphere featuring a small plates menu, botanical libations, live music, interactive experiences and a Raise Your Paddle fundraiser. This event is open to the public and welcomes new donors and corporate partners. Join our party with a purpose!
Native Plant Conference
Formerly named the Land Ethics Symposium, this full-day conference is the Preserve’s education and engagement in action. The day features multiple industry speakers, including a highly anticipated keynote speaker, with program content that is innovative, inspiring and also practical. The event is open to the public and welcomes landscape professionals, students, educators, gardeners, homeowners and anyone passionate about native plants, conservation and sustainability. Join our community conversation!
Preserve @ Play
A community day dedicated to families and our youngest changemakers with a whimsical annual theme featuring nature discovery play, engaging physical and tactile activities, a wildlife program, live music, food trucks and much more. This event is open to the public and welcomes families with children of all ages. Please note that most activities are designed for children 12 and under. Join us for a family day of fun and exploration within the Preserve’s enchanted trails and outdoor exhibits.
Music in the Meadow
A community evening of live music and fall festival-inspired touches, including bonfires, food trucks, libations and the Preserve’s very own pop-up “merch” shop. This event is open to the public and welcomes both Preserve members and non-members, community groups and new visitors. Join us for a relaxing evening and “BYO” chairs and blankets!
The Preserve in the Wild!
We also love supporting events within the community. Each year, the Preserve is represented at 10-15 community events, sharing our mission and connecting with those who are giving back and doing meaningful work in so many ways. You inspire us! Do you have a recommendation for an event that the Preserve should table at or participate in? Please contact pr@bhwp.org.
