Winterberry (Ilex verticillata) ‘Red Sprite’

$25.00

Red berries cover the branches after the leaves drop in the fall for a spectacular landscape show. Bluebirds, cedar waxwings, robins and many others descend on the berries, usually sometime after the first frost. Grows in moist areas in the wild, but is adaptable in the garden setting. Both male and female plants are needed to set the fruit. This is the female version of this cultivar. The plant does produce red berries in the fall and winter. A male plant is also needed for pollination.
