“Wild” Gentle Yoga All Weeks

Join Priscilla Hayes, Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve volunteer naturalist and certified yoga teacher, at the Preserve for gentle yoga that builds strength, flexibility and a better understanding of how humans connect to and reflect natural systems.  Draw inspiration from the company of native plants living in community with each other and humans at BHWP.  Each session will include a series of asanas (physical poses) and a guided meditation on our connection to nature.

Sequence:

  • Week One: Breath fundamentals—pranayama for humans and plants; focus on the breath in strength building poses.
  • Week Two: Digestion fundamentals—using yoga to help break down our food and our thoughts and learnings; connections to plant digestion.
  • Week Three: Not a collection of parts—we all grow from seeds (plants and humans).  Exploring the role of fascia that connects us all.
  • Week Four: Interconnection—trees connect to mycorrhizal fungi; exploring our own interconnections through movement and thought.
  • Week Five: Points of entry—Begin with one: breath, body or spirit, whichever point you feel most appropriate, and allow you practice to radiate.
