White flowers emerge on stalks above the leaves, giving way to interesting elongated seed heads, followed by fluffy, cotton-like fluff after frost. Seed heads provide winter interest and food for birds and small mammals. Works well in dry, part sun/shade. It is not aggressive like Canada anemone (Anemone canadensis), but will reseed.
