Sneezeweed (Helenium autumnale)

Tall stems topped with masses of yellow, daisy-like flowers. Grows and spreads easily in moist to wet areas and would work well in a rain garden or runoff area. It blooms in mid- to late-summer, working well with New England or New York asters for late summer to fall color. Suited for the back of a tall border or a wild meadow. The name sneezeweed comes from its traditional use to make snuff, but it does not cause allergies because it is not wind pollinated.
