Smooth Sumac (Rhus glabra)

$25.00

Yellow flowers blooming in a large pyramidal cluster in early summer are attractive to many pollinators, including bees, flies and butterflies. Pollinated flowers are replaced with red fruit in late summer, appealing to many birds and small mammals. Great foliage color in early fall. The fallen, decomposing leaves are food for the caterpillars of Red-banded Hairstreak butterflies. This shrub spreads readily through its underground root system, so is best used where it has room to run.
