End

Free

Kids 3 to 6 and their adult caregivers can join a naturalist for a fun-filled morning as we discover the world of monarch butterflies and the milkweed on which they depend. We will start with a short discussion and story, then head out to explore the Preserve’s meadow looking for monarchs and other butterflies that visit milkweed. Once back, we will work on a make-and-take craft that relates to our topic.

Pam Newitt has a B.S. in wildlife conservation from the University of Maryland. She has been a professional interpretive naturalist since 1989. She is a member of the Preserve’s board of trustees and chair of the education committee, positions she has held almost continuously since 2004. She loves walking woodland trails, looking up for birds and down at wildflowers.
