Knowing Native Plants: Signs of Spring, (Virtual Program), Mar. 27, 2021

Start
Saturday, March 27 10:00 am
End
Saturday, March 27 12:00 pm

$25.00

Meet the early flowering plants—including snow trillium, skunk cabbage, hepatica and some early blooming woody species—and learn how they have adapted to this potentially harsh time of year. Led by Preserve Naturalist Mary Anne Borge, we’ll also look at shoots just beginning to poke through the soil, including some spring-blooming plants and others that may surprise you! Mary Anne will also discuss some of the various signs of spring we can observe in the animal world.

Presented By: Mary Anne Borge
Mary Anne Borge is a naturalist, photographer, author and educator. A naturalist at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve since 2006, she is a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist and editor of Butterfly Gardener magazine. She is the team leader for Lambertville Goes Wild, a volunteer group whose efforts  successfully led to the National Wildlife Federation’s certification of Lambertville, N.J., as a community wildlife habitat. At her blog, the-natural-web.org, Mary Anne writes about and, with her photography, illustrates the importance of native plants to all life on Earth.
