Silky dogwood (Cornus amomum)

$25.00

A tall, tough shrub that is excellent for naturalizing, silky dogwood thrives in moist soil but will tolerate drier conditions.  Like all dogwoods, it has a high wildlife value as a food plant for birds and a host and nectar plant for pollinators. Clusters of small white flowers turn into deep blue berries by August, followed by deep red foliage in fall, and reddish stems in winter.  It can be pruned as a small tree but is better suited to naturalizing, as a border shrub, or in rain gardens.
