Join local photographer Josh Friedman for a personalized photo shoot at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve (Apr. 24). We will put the lessons we learned from his virtual lecture (Apr. 23) into practice and hone our camera skills on the rich native plant life around us. This Sunday morning workshop will be accompanied by an evening photo sharing and critique session with Josh the following Wednesday, April 28, at 7:30 pm.
This program contains both virtual and in-person elements taking place over multiple days. This event includes:
Zoom lecture on Friday, April 23, at 7:30 pm: “Improving Composition in Your Landscape, Nature and Travel Photography.”
- In-person session on Saturday, April 24, at 7:00 am: “Morning Photography at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve.”
- Zoom Photo sharing and Critique Session on Wednesday, April 28, at 7:30 pm.
Photography has been integral throughout Josh’s life. Beginning with a 110 Kodak Pocket Instamatic as a child, he had converted a storage closet in his parent’s basement into a darkroom to develop photos while he was in high school. For 25 years, he shot with a series of traditional film SLR cameras, but for many years he has now shot exclusively with digital cameras, and he uses software to edit his image. Josh received his undergraduate degree from Franklin and Marshall College and went on to earn his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Currently, a psychologist at his practice in Lawrenceville, NJ, his photography has been exhibited in several juried fine art shows. You can find his work in hundreds of homes, offices and medical clinics in addition to being used commercially. They are available for purchase through his online ETSY shop, “JoshFriedmanPhoto.”
