Giant Purple Hyssop (Agastache scrophulariifolia)

Purple giant hyssop has an abundance of showy, lavender flowers that bloom over a long period. Bees and butterflies love it, and birds pick at the seed heads all winter. The spiked flower shape works well as a nice contrast with purple coneflowers (Echinacea purpurea) and taller Phlox sp. Slightly taller and longer flowering than anise hyssop and more tolerant of shade.
