Bring your budding explorer and join naturalist Pam Newitt as we discover the amazing relationship between flowers and butterflies. We will give special emphasis on the intricate partnership between monarch butterflies (Danaus plexippus) and milkweed (Asclepias spp.), but there is so much more to the story. This program includes an indoor discussion, a story, a hike and a take-home art project. Dress for the weather. For kids ages 3-6 with an adult.

Pam Newitt has a B.S. in wildlife conservation from the University of Maryland, has been a professional interpretive naturalist since 1989 and is a long-time active presence at the Preserve. She loves walking woodland trails, looking up for birds and down at wildflowers.
