Birding for Beginners with Pam Newitt (Virtual Lecture and Guided Walk) Mar. 10 and 13, 2022

Want to begin bird watching but don’t know where to start? Pam Newitt, Preserve naturalist, educator and ornithological enthusiast, will teach us the basics of field identification through both visual and behavioral cues. She will also review several common vocalizations, as songs and calls are another great way to identify birds.

Pam Newitt has a B.S. in wildlife conservation from the University of Maryland. She has been a professional interpretive naturalist since 1989. She is a member of the Preserve’s board of trustees and chair of the education committee, positions she has held almost continuously since 2004. She loves walking woodland trails, looking up for birds and down at wildflowers.

This program option also includes a guided walk with Pam at the Preserve on Sunday, Mar. 13 beginning at 8:00 am.
